Overview
Zoryve is a prescription topical treatment approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) that comes in two forms: a cream and a foam. Zoryve cream is indicated for the treatment of atopic dermatitis (the most common form of eczema) and plaque psoriasis in adults and children ages 6 and up. Zoryve foam is indicated for the treatment of seborrheic dermatitis in adults and children 9 and up. Zoryve is also known by its drug name, roflumilast.

Zoryve is a phosphodiesterase 4 (PDE4) inhibitor. Scientists believe it works by inhibiting the enzyme PDE4, thereby reducing inflammation and the activity of immune cells in the skin. This, in turn, helps to manage the symptoms of atopic dermatitis.

How do I take it?
Prescribing information states that Zoryve cream 0.15 percent should be applied once daily to the affected areas of the skin. It is for topical use only and should not be used in the eyes, mouth, or vagina. The medication should be used exactly as prescribed by a health care provider.

Side effects
Common side effects of Zoryve cream for people with atopic dermatitis include headache, nausea, application-site pain, diarrhea, and vomiting.

Rare but serious side effects of Zoryve cream may include an increase in side effects if taken along with systemic CYP3A4 inhibitors or dual inhibitors that inhibit both CYP3A4 and CYP1A2 simultaneously.
